In the past couple of games, he has even left the team's warm-ups to walk over to the sideline and greet former teammates.
Ahead of Manchester United vs Liverpool , he famously ignored Jamie Carragher while hugging Gary Neville and Roy Keane .
Now, in the pre-match of Southampton vs Manchester United , he ignored another person, this time greeting Rio Ferdinand , Paul Scholes and Peter Crouch but not Lynsey Hipgrave as the BT Sport crew were standing pitchside.
Hipgrave was able to make a joke about it, though, even referring to the more awkward situation that had taken place on Sky Sports with Carragher . "I was the one being blanked this time, which I wasn't too happy about," she said.
