Sign up to the Port Tech Daily News for free to keep up to date with the latest industry news Myanmar’s Ministry of Transport and Communications has invited tenders to conduct a feasibility study for the construction of a new international standard port near Mawlamyine in Mon State.
According to a statement by the Myanmar Port Authority on 29 May, the study will commence between Talauk Nyaung Wine Village and Wekali Village of Mudon Town in Mawlamyine.
The tender form is available as of 9 June.
The project is aimed at enhancing the urban development capabilities of Mawlamyine and to rejuvenate the region by connecting it to major shipping lanes , in particular from the Middle East and Africa.
