Oct 25, 2022 Garreffa From Mirror staff reports An Indiana County teen reportedly last seen in Ebensburg Borough, Cambria County, was found dead over the weekend and his death has been ruled a homicide.
The body of Hayden Robert Garreffa, 19, of East Wheatfield Township was located by troopers about 4 a.m.
Saturday in a remote, wooded area of Brush Valley Township, Indiana County, according to a state police report.
Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman Jr. responded to the scene and ruled Garreffa’s death a homicide.
Garreffa was determined to have died about 2:30 p.m.
Oct. 20, the same day he was reported missing.
All suspects in the investigation have been identified, located and taken into custody and there is no danger to the public, police stated.
While police did not release the identity of those arrested in connection with Garreffa’s death, court documents indicate seven people have been charged with kidnapping and each has had bail denied pending the filing of additional charges.
The suspects , both male and female , range in age from 18 to 21 and all but one are from Johnstown.
They are being held in the Indiana County Prison, according to court documents.
The Troop A Criminal Investigation Section and Criminal Investigation Assessment Unit were assisted by the Ebensburg Borough Police Department, the Indiana County District Attorney’s Office, Indiana County Coroner’s Office, City of Johnstown Police Department and the U.S.
Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
The investigation is ongoing.
