One of the Wilmerding homes damaged in a crash involving a garbage truck was torn down Wednesday.
Demolition of the vacant home on Patton Street began Wednesday morning.
Emergency and gas crews responded to the crash, where a garbage truck crashed into two homes on Patton Street around 4 a.m.
Tuesday.
The other home was occupied by two teenagers who were sleeping and uninjured.

The Wilmerding Fire Marshal told Pittsburgh's Action News 4 reporter Ashley Zilka that the driver of the Big's Sanitation truck died.
The medical examiner's office said Dana M.
Rodericks, 47, of Delmont, died at the scene of the crash.
The cause of death has not yet been determined.
County police said the truck was traveling on Jefferson Street and attempting to make a turn onto Patton Street when it tipped over.
Hussey said the crash put the community in danger. "They had a large amount of gas coming out of the structures, both of them, and that was because the vehicle severed the gas lines and there was no way to shut them off," said Hussey. "The vehicle was over top of the gas shut-off, so myself and the gas company had to improvise to get it shut off." A WTAE photojournalist on the scene reported a strong odor of gas.
Peoples Gas was called to the scene after the truck hit the home's gas line.
Duquesne Light was also on the scene.
Crews continue to investigate what led up to the crash.
A safety check on Big's Sanitation shows the Department of Transportation has issued six violations to the company over the past 24 months for drivers not wearing seatbelts.
Pittsburgh's Action News 4 reached out to Big's Sanitation for comment.
