National Lottery players are being urged to check their tickets - after one ticket-holder won the £8.5 million jackpot in tonight's (Wednesday, May 25) Lotto draw .
Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at The National Lottery, said: “What amazing news, one ticket-holder has won tonight’s amazing £8.5 million Lotto jackpot. "This is the second big win this month after one lucky ticket-holder banked the giant £8.6 million Lotto jackpot on May 11".
Former Wales international David Cotterill has sparked a backlash on social media after posting a bizarre rant less than 24 hours after the horrific school shooting in Texas.
Nineteen children and two teachers were killed when a lone gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
Reports claim the suspect, Salvador Ramos, 18, had also shot his grandmother before entering the school.
The incident follows on from another mass shooting in Buffalo, New York, just 10 days ago.
On that occasion, the suspect, also believed to be an 18-year-old shooter, opened fire at a supermarket, killing 10 people.
Both shootings are likely to spark significant debate over gun laws in America, with the right to bear arms protected under the second amendment of the country's constitution.
In a somewhat bizarre turn of events, Cotterill has now waded into the debate, referring to a 'false flag event '.
Road has now cleared and traffic has returned to normal on Wentloog Road on the B4239 in the Rumney area of Cardiff.
The accident near Ty-Fry Road has also been cleared, according to Inrix.
A Carmarthenshire councillor has referred himself to the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales after an expletive-laden outburst during a council training seminar .

More than half of people think Boris Johnson should resign as Prime Minister, according to a poll carried out after the publication of the Sue Gray report.
The damning report listed all the occasions events were held in Downing Street including the events the Prime Minister personally attended.
Pollsters YouGov carried out a snap poll after the report was published and found 59% of Brits think Mr Johnson should quit as Prime Minister.
It includes around a quarter (27%) of 2019 Conservative voters.
Three in ten (30%) Britons say that the PM should remain in his role, rising to almost two-thirds (63%) of 2019 Conservative voters.
The poll asked 2,748 adults.
The Welsh language broadcaster, S4C , has announced it will continue its coverage of the Welsh national football team from 2022 to 2024.
The television channel has secured exclusive UK free-to-air broadcast rights to show Wales games in Welsh, with pay channel Premier Sports showing the Nations League and Euro 2024 qualifiers in English.

Inquiries led police to a second house in Swansea being lived in by two former Army friends - in this property officers found almost £31,000 worth of cocaine, along with a cannabis-growing operation and a 9mm bullet which was a "souvenir" of military service.

Traffic South Wales has said there is congestion in the area due to lane closure in place for preparation of emergency works.
Traffic is also queueing on the A4240 Gorseinon Road back to the Lidl supermarket.
Travel time is expected to be around 25 minutes, according to Inrix.

The PM added however that he "bitterly regrets" the partygate scandal and accepts responsibility.

Plans to expand the number of Senedd members from 60 to 96 have been put forward by Labour and Plaid in the Senedd.
But Simon Hart has argued that the "proper course of action for Welsh Government is to seek the approval of its voters before proceeding with any of these costly measures".
Traffic is said to easing in the Miskin area of Vale of Glamorgan, following an earlier accident on the M4 Eastbound from J35 A473 in Pencoed, Bridgend to J34, A4119 in Miskin.
Transport for Wales has announced that their rail services will "continue to be impacted for the rest of 2022" following a recent train collision with a mini digger near Craven Arms.
On Sunday evening, The train , which was made up of three two-car Sprinter units, struck the mini digger at around 60 mph, causing major fire damage to the first two units .
The damage to the trains will take several months to repair, according to Transport for Wales, meaning they will have four fewer carriages to use across the whole Wales and Borders network.
Sprinter trains are the only trains used on many routes across the network, including the Core Valley Lines to Treherbert, Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil.
As a result of this and ongoing work on the railway at Radyr, TfW will temporarily run a reduced service across the valleys network for the next few days, including no trains on the City Line.
Rail tickets are accepted on Cardiff Bus services, and replacement buses are in operation to support students travelling to and from Bishop of Llandaff Church in Wales High School.

South Wales Police have named a 13-year-old boy who died after swimming in the River Tawe in Swansea as Kane Edwards.
The young boy apparently got into difficulty while in the water , sparking an extensive search involving police, fire, ambulance and coastguard personnel, and a helicopter on the evening of Tuesday, May 24.
Police are investigating a suspected murder after a woman was found dead at a house in Newport.
Gwent Police said the woman was found unresponsive at a property in the Bettws area of the city on Tuesday afternoon.

Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries said lessons had been learned from partygate and it was now "time to move on".
In a series of tweets posted around the same time as her Cabinet colleagues also sent messages of support for Boris Johnson on Wednesday, she tweeted: "The PM has made a full and unreserved apology. "The public now want us to get on and deliver - dealing with the war in Ukraine, helping with the global rising cost of living which has resulted from the war and post pandemic." A parent has spoken out after she claimed her daughter returned home starving because she refused to eat the "vile" school dinners on offer at her secondary school .
The parent, who did not want to be named, said she was amazed that kids in QE High, the biggest school in Carmarthen, were expected to eat some of the food prepared and sold there.
The school dinners, managed by Carmarthenshire Council, cost £2.60 a day, but some say they believe they do not represent value for money.

A 13-year-old boy has died after apparently getting into difficulty while swimming in the River Tawe in Morriston, Swansea.
South Wales Police said an extensive search was launched on the evening of Tuesday, May 24, also involving, the fire, ambulance, and coastguard services and the force helicopter after a report was received that children had been swimming in the river and one boy had not been seen coming out of the water.
Average petrol prices exceed £1.70 per litre for the first time, new figures show.
The average price of a litre of petrol at UK forecourts on Tuesday was 170.4p, according to data firm Experian Catalist.
Diesel also reached a record high of 181.4p per litre.
This time last year, petrol was 129.0p per litre, with diesel at 131.3p per litre.
RAC fuel spokesman Simon Williams said the price of petrol has reached "another unfortunate landmark".
Marks & Spencer says it will fully exit the Russian market following the invasion of Ukraine.
The retail giant stopped shipments to Russia in March but previously said complex franchise deals prevented it from withdrawing completely, with about 50 shops still open.
But the firm said after negotiations it would fully exit its Russian franchise.
