Andrew Williams, 34, and Monique Williams, 37, were also shot and in serious condition at the hospital.
Deputies said the shooter, Aaron Lavatio Linebarger, is charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder.
According to deputies, Linebarger, 37, accidentally shot himself in the foot during the shooting.
Faherty learned that Linebarger was out of the hospital by Tuesday morning and in custody in Newton.
At the sheriff’s office, Linebarger told Channel 9 he believes the shooting was self-defense. “I protected my own house,” Linebarger said. “I defended myself.” Faherty spoke with family members who said a problem with a broken kitchen sink faucet and tension over fixing it may have sparked the shooting.
Channel 9 also learned Linebarger made two calls to 9-1-1 from the home after the shooting.
Faherty is working to get more details on those calls.
Detectives were on the scene conducting interviews at the scene and have also been sent to the three different hospitals in the area where each of the victims were sent in hopes of learning more about what happened.
