Boston 25 has learned that three people , two operators and a passenger , were taken to the hospital.
The crash happened when the trains sideswiped each other while traveling to the Park Street station.
The MBTA tweeted that the collision happened near Government Center.
Service is suspended between Park Street and Union Square.
In a follow-up tweet, the MBTA said shuttle buses have replaced Green Line trains between North Station and Lechmere.
The Blue Line is bypassing Government Center in both directions.
Riders are asked to use the Orange Line to travel downtown.
