State investigators were part of a search Wednesday in Oconee County, according to the Oconee County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said the sheriff's office executed a search warrant at an address on Mormon Church Road.
They said it was in connection to the search for evidence in a current investigation.
Sheriff Mike Crenshaw requested assistance from the Forensics Unit of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, due to their expertise in the type of search involved. "Due to the current investigation, the Sheriff’s Office cannot provide any further details, at this time, in regards to the nature of the investigation nor any evidence that has been collected or evidence that is being searched for," the sheriff's office said in a news release.
Sky 4 flew over the area and showed heavy equipment, along with signs of digging going on there.
Several law enforcement vehicles were also at the scene, along with dogs.
According to the sheriff's office, the search for evidence did not result in any meaningful evidence and the SLED investigators returned to Columbia.
