Roasted Chickpeas

Chickpeas are also called garbanzo beans and are very healthy legumes. They provide a lot of fiber and protein, so they are excellent for people with diabetes.

Research shows that eating chickpeas regularly can help to prevent the advancement of diabetes because they have the capacity to help in the management of blood glucose levels.

A study was conducted with 19 adult participants who ate chickpea- based meals every day for 6 weeks. It was found that their insulin and blood sugar levels were much lower after eating than the individuals who consumed wheat-based meals (Elliott, 2018).
