Reporter WINDSOR LOCKS , The town will join cities around the world in celebrating International Make Music Day on Tuesday, June 21.
Make Music Day, originally known as Fete De La Musique, started in France in 1982.
The purpose was to have a celebration of music where everyone would be included.
Today, more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries dedicate a part of the day to making a variety of music, according to makemusicday.org .
Windsor Locks Arts will host its own Make Music event from 3:30 to 8 p.m.
June 21 at Town Hall.
Anyone, from a seasoned professional to an inexperienced artist, is welcome to perform.
Six microphones, working through a 12-channel mixer and a direct box for keyboard amplification, will be available for all performers.
Artists are responsible for bringing any other equipment they need.
The venue does not have a stage, so participants should bring something to put their equipment on if they want to avoid putting it on the grass.
Performers will be allotted 20-minute blocks for performing, setting up, and taking down the necessary equipment.
To sign up for a block, visit signupgenius.com . , Collin Atwood Collin covers East Windsor and Windsor Locks for the Journal Inquirer.
