The International Admission Intern position is a professional role designed to give DePauw students a glimpse of what it is like to work in Admissions and the Higher Education sector.

Successful interns are passionate about DePauw, communicate well and enjoy meeting and interacting with students and families of diverse backgrounds.

Our interns are available to assist incoming international students navigate DePauw application process.

You can schedule a 30 minutes Tiger Talk with an intern and learn more about DePauw from their perspectives.

Ngo Le Vy is a sophomore from Saigon, Vietnam.

After a few years in the labor market, Vy decided to come back to college to pursue a higher education.

On her first week at DePauw, she knew she had made the right choice.

A beautiful campus, welcoming community, small class size and caring yet challenging professors went beyond her expectation for a true education.

Vy’s DePauw journey excites her with meetings with helpful alumni, double minors in Chinese and Japanese Studies and a one-year exchange in Japan in her junior year.

She intended to major in Psychology only, but her passionate Economics professor inspired her to major in this subject as well.

Besides her internship at the Admission Office, Vy also participates in Honor Scholars and Management Fellows.

When she is not too busy with her homework, Vy likes to bake brownies and to cook Asian food to share with friends.

Tiger Talk Schedule Zimo Ma (Zina) is a senior from Xi’an, China.

She is double majoring in mathematics and psychology.

She started her DePauw life in the Summer English Institute before her freshman year.

She had a great experience in both academic and social areas, such as knowing DePauw and connecting with students from different countries.

In addition to being an International Admission Intern, Zimo is the secretary of DePauw China Connection, the treasure of B4U K-pop dance club, Music Library student assistant.

She is also a member of DePauw International Student Association, Psychology focus group research team, Xcell dance team, Human Society volunteers.

Zimo used to learn Chinese traditional dances for over 10 years and Jazz for two months.

This made her find out the charm of different styles of dances.

This year, she continued her experience at Xcell, and her friends and she constituted a K-pop dance club, B4U.

Tiger Talk Schedule Quynh Chu is a sophomore from Hanoi, Vietnam.

She usually goes by Quinn but calling her Quynh will definitely make her day!

Like many other students, she is still not sure about her major but she has taken a liking to Computer Science and other STEM-related subjects.

Quynh enjoys her time at DePauw University by participating in various activities and being in many different positions.

This semester, in addition to being an International Admission Intern, she is working as the Student Affairs Office Assistant and Project Manager for upcycling working group at DePauw Sustainability Leadership Program.

She is the president/co-founder of DePauw Table Tennis Club, a Science Research Fellow, and an upcoming Speaking Consultant at the Academic Resource Center.

In her free time, Quynh loves to play some instruments such as the piano and ukulele.

DePauw University takes a special place in Quynh’s heart because of the small and welcoming community.

She loves the discussion-based classroom with the opportunity to speak up her mind about various topics.

She also enjoys interacting with the students coming from different backgrounds and trying out new food.

Tiger Talk Schedule Kelsang Shrestha is a rising junior from Kathmandu, Nepal.

He is double majoring in Economics and Environmental Geoscience and minoring in Computer Science.

As spread out as his academic pursuits sound, his interests and campus involvements are equally so.

During an entirely remote freshman year, Kelsang found a small network of support through the DePauw International Students’ Association (DISA).

This motivated him to serve other international students and became the Treasurer of DISA upon arriving as a sophomore.

In addition to being an Admissions Intern, Kelsang also works as a Geoscience STEM guide and Prevo Science Library Desk Assistant.

In the past, Kelsang has served as a Q-Tutor and Office Assistant at the Geoscience Department.

Moving forward, Kelsang will be serving as a member of his fraternity’s executive council while also fulfilling his roles as a First-Year Mentor and Admissions Intern.

This unending supply of opportunities and diverse group of talented colleagues is what Kelsang appreciates most about his DePauw experience.

When Kelsang is not at work or studying in the Geoscience lobby, you may find him playing soccer at the field or making music at one of the practice rooms in the GCPA.
