Krause for commissioner The challenges facing the residents of Jackson County are not partisan ones.

All of us are impacted by fire danger, limited water supplies, homelessness, lack of affordable housing , the list goes on and on.

To address these crucial issues we need fresh leadership on the county level.

Denise Krause, candidate for Jackson County commissioner, will bring intelligence, energy and expertise to the position.

At a time when our country seems so divided, Denise will strive to find common ground among all constituents.

I am confident that Denise will work for all people in our county, listening to their concerns with respect and finding innovative ways to address them.

Ellen Craine Ashland Support park infrastructure Advocates of Measure 15-211 claim that Ashland’s food and beverage tax revenue will be “stranded” if the measure does not pass because tax revenues could only be used for parks capital improvements and there are no available projects.

Actually, there are a number of potential projects that park commissioners have been working toward, including Lithia Park infrastructure improvements and a replacement pool.

Planning and public meetings have occurred.

The food and beverage tax was originally for “acquisition, planning, development, repair and rehabilitation of city parks.” With only a few minor exceptions, land acquisition is not needed, but repair and rehabilitation at city parks is an obvious need.

Using this “stranded” money for park capital improvement projects would be totally consistent with the original intent of voters and would move cash-starved projects forward without resorting to property tax dollars.

Voting no on Measure 15-211 supports Ashland’s park infrastructure.

Rick Landt Ashland Krause will work for us Our beautiful Rogue Valley is in trouble.

Wildfires, drought and political divisiveness have left us exhausted and discouraged.

We can do better.

That’s why I am voting for Denise Krause for Jackson County commissioner.

Denise is a small-business owner, public-health expert and family farmer.

She has traveled throughout this county talking with voters and discussing her ideas for improved fire safety, water conservation and affordable housing.

She is a good listener: smart and compassionate.

And she loves her dog!

She’ll work for all of us.

Please vote for Denise Krause on Nov. 8.
